1. What is Prana Pratishta?

Prana Pratishta is the sacred ritual of bringing divine life-force (prāṇa) into a murti. According to Hindu scriptures like the Agamas and Shilpa Shastras, this process transforms a simple idol into a living, blessed presence of the deity.

2. Why is Prana Pratishta essential?

Prana Pratishta is essential because it awakens the divine presence within the murti.

Scriptures explain that without this ritual, an idol remains only a form — but with Prana Pratishta, it becomes a sacred, living embodiment of the deity, capable of receiving prayers and granting blessings.

3. Are normal idols in shops blessed?

No. Most idols sold in shops are not blessed or energized. They are beautifully crafted forms, but they do not carry divine life-force until a Prana Pratishta ritual is performed.

Only after this ceremony does the murti become a consecrated, awakened presence of the deity.

4. Can I do Prana Pratishta at home by myself?

Yes, you can perform a simple form of Prana Pratishta at home, but a full traditional Prana Pratishta is a long and expensive process.

5. What should I do after the murti arrives?

Once your murti arrives, place it in a clean, respectful space, offer flowers or incense, and recite a simple prayer or mantra.

This welcomes the deity into your home and prepares the murti for daily worship.

6.  Is it okay to ship a murti after the ritual?

Yes — because we perform Chal Pran Pratishta, a form described in scriptures where the divine energy is mobile and can move with the murti during travel.

This is different from Aachal Pran Pratishta, done in temples, where the deity is permanently established and the murti cannot be moved.

So shipping a consecrated murti is completely acceptable in Chal Pran Pratishta.

7. What should I do after the murti arrives?

Place the murti in a clean, peaceful space, offer a simple prayer, and light incense or a diya.

This welcomes the deity into your home and begins your daily worship.

8. How do I take care of the murti daily?

Keep the murti clean, offer fresh flowers or a diya, and chant a small prayer each day.

Regular respect, cleanliness, and devotion are considered the essential forms of daily care.
